Lead Balloon - Series 3 Page 15

Just stumbled into this thread and I'm pleased to see Lead Balloon is returning. I really liked the first two series and I'm looking forward to it starting.

I love this show and am glad to see it coming back. People unfairly compare it to Curb, but it's so different and very nicely written. This is the best thing I've seen Jack Dee do.

The cast are also fantastic. Looking forward to it.

If you don't know what Tipit is, it is a game show where people have to guess what hand they are holding a little pebble in :(

I didn't even know they were making a new series, good news! Looking forward to it!

One website has listed the new series' production for a number of years now! ;)

Been trying to figure this out for too long, maybe someone will have an idea :) Any clue what song is used in the 'Scooter scene' in S3E2 after Rick gets rejected from the family-history show? 99.9% sure its a Mark Knopfler/Dire Straits song but I dunno which :P (Like 25min into the episode)

Don't suppose that scene is on YouTube or something so we can hear the song in question?

Hmm, it does sound familiar, but I don't know what it is!

I'm sure someone here will know though. David Chapman perhaps...?

According to the app on my phone:

OMG thanks :) Can't believe that it wasn't a Mark Knopfler piece, interesting :)

I'm really enjoying the current reruns of these and they have whetted my appetite in anticipation of series 3 due in a week or two.

But...

According to Amazon there is going to be a box set of series 1-4 (?) released 11 July; this in addition to series 3 slated for release 6th June.

So do we deduce that perhaps there is to be a double series broadcast in the interim? I know one is reputed to have been in the can now for some time and I think series 2 was broadcast in 2007 so there has been enough time for this to have happened. I really do hope there will be 12+ new episodes as that would be grand.

I am confused. Do you have any info Mark?

Edit:

See below.

No, we deduce that you've not checked our guide. Three series of Lead Balloon have already been broadcast - it's Series 4 that your appetite has been whetted in anticipation of!

A-ha! I actually thought there'd been three already but those Amazon geezers threw me off the scent as it appears that 3 has never had a DVD release despite it having gone out a few years ago.

So there's a guide on this site somewhere is there? Whistling nnocently Whistling nnocently

Not starting on March 23rd after all it seems. Tsk.

Series 3 repeat began last night on BBC Four -- so no Series 4 until that's finished..?

It does indeed appear to have been postponed again. With a DVD release of 11th July, I'd guess we may be looking at a mid-May start.
