We sent our first 'Make It' newsletter yesterday. If you didn't get a copy and want to receive future emails...
a) Firstly, check you're subscribed: https://www.comedy.co.uk/newsletters/
b) If the 'Make It' box is already ticked, please email or PM me please so we can find out where your copy went.
c) In the meantime, you can read it online here. It's only short as it was mainly a test, but there's an interesting article in there from Dave Cohen about writing sitcom cliches and how perhaps they're not so bad after all.
We're soon going to be helping to draw attention to good projects that BCG members are working on, so do post in the Showcase Forum when you make something new you're proud of. A fair few producers visit the main part of the BCG and follow us on Twitter etc (including big names like Kenton Allen) so maybe we can just help get your video, podcast or whatever you're doing (it's not really for written scripts though, as the general public won't want to wade through writing) seen in a wider context. One last thing: it's quality, not quantity - so don't put everything you've ever done in Showcase - just the things you're most proud of. You'll be more likely to be picked then.
