Am thinking about doing a funny YouTube video but don't know what to do.

Why not try listing examples of your other work, or any other information about yourself and see if anyone is interested in working with you. I'm sure there are plenty of writers on here interested in seeing something of there's performed.
I can't imagine people are going to throw ideas at you for free though.
i wasnt really looking for a writer as such but more like ideas, like something to sort of start the ball rolling so to speak

Pick out one person who is the oddest you see and think up bizarre circumstances for that person.

Blimey, it's been ages since I last posted!
Answer: do a sketch. I've just discovered Xtranormal software, which enables you to animate your ideas.
You just write the script, and the animation is done for you at a relatively modest price.
The voices could be better, but you can record your own if you want.
