I have never watch a complete episode of Episodes. I always turn off before the end. It's really bad.

I stuck with it though I have to say that some weeks I found the laughs very few and far between given it was American written and their shows are usually full of quickfire one liners, but usually the laughs were worth waiting for when they came. By no means a favourite of recent times, but bearable, just.

I agree totally with the above. Certainly wasn't anywhere near as good as promised. The cast are great, which is why I was so surprised by it's constant failure to land laughs. Should have been billed as a drama.
That's exactly what I said to my good lady. Two or three part comedy drama rather than six part sitcom.
I guess I'm one of the few people who found this genuinely funny.
Perhaps I'm a secret American.

I'm with you John. I really enjoyed this and have been banging on since the start that perhaps it was mis-sold to the punters as a sitcom, and maybe it would have been better billed as a comedy drama.
Any road up I'm pleased to see they're doing another series; but they seemed to know this already as the content that was available under the red button saw the three leads and Jimmy Mulville discussing what was likely to happen in the next series. Not a shred of Alan Partridge doubt anywhere to be seen.

Yeah, I guess people have certain expectations of something billed as a 'sitcom', even given the variety of form/content/style of contemporary sitcoms.
Glad there's a series 2. Nine eps as well. Nice.
For those interested, Matt LeBlanc has been nominated for an Emmy for Episodes.

And being plugged on Top Gear. Presumably the production company have photographs of senior BBC staff in compromising positions.
When Episodes originally aired I didn't make it to the end, I was annoyed by the un-original story and just lack of funny gags. How it got Golden Globe nominated I will never know. The main probelm though is seen it all before, it's in fact very similar to something Lisa Kudrow starred in called The Comeback.
