I'm listening to a cd of Sandy in the car lately.
The humour/jokes, to an oldie like me, are understandable and, well, humourous.
But I think the closer you are to the end of National Service, the better they become.

Gawd, Sandy Powell! He had a long career, I can remember him performing well into the 1970s. "Can you hear me mother?" etc etc

Coming over all Uncle Albert? Sandy Powell of course was famous for his "The day war broke out" routine. As in "The day war broke out, my wife said to me, 'what are you going to do about it?'" Think I have this on some obscure compilation DVD somewhere.
