Things that piss you off Page 660

Haven't you just been ill? Glasgow should be visiting you!

Ha, yeah too right!

I'd booked the flights ages ago, was meant to be flying tomorrow night for the weekend, but am obviously not allowed to fly at the mo.

I just can't believe how expensive it is.

To be fair, the flights aren't that expensive, but when they add on the taxes it bumps them up to over £100 each. The trains are the same price, but pay no taxes so they are the biggest rip-off, at least on BA you get a free sandwich and drink.

Tickets are non-refundable, and I didn't take travel insurance.

The cheapest train tickets are £115 each so for 2 to go it's £230.

How the hell is it so expensive to get to Glasgow? I could get to Paris cheaper, damn my Scottishness!

That's messed up on so many levels! £115!!!

You'd think maybe if you had medical reasons they might waive the charges.

I bet it is perfectly legal to charge BA £220 for the inconvenience of charging you £220. Check out MoneySavingExpert fella.

BA are doing me a favour by allowing me to change, so I thought I'd change the tickets for Christmas and just buy a cheap off-peak in a couple of weeks.

To change to Christmas is £220, but if I buy the same tickets new it's only £130. Go figure! I used to work for BA too, boy do I miss the staff discount.

I learned something very interesting from him the other day.

If you buy something online, and want to send it back (because it doesn't fit or whatever) - Even if they say they don't refund the return postage on their site, if you ask, they have to refund you for it.

Yeah, there's loads of little tricks like that. Thing is though, if a company is stubborn, legally you're in the right, but it's a lot of effort to get them to agree and pay up. So I think most people just don't bother.

Ha, yep.

He'd be a handy person to know, that man, but I bet he's really annoying to live with.

Oh, yes! I bet going grocery shopping would take hours. You'd end up going to 5 different supermarkets. It would be a good result, but very annoying.

I'm well versed in all the ticket regulations so I could kick myself for not getting insurance, but it would hurt my back too much.

I think it's karma getting me back for all the passengers I declined when I was working for BA.

Damn you karma!

The spiral stairs at Finsbury Park.

It's easy to tell which one you are watching.

Are the characters English? It's The Office.

Are the characters American? It's The Office- An American Workplace.

Um..yeah think you may have missed the general gist of the thread there but thanks for the heads up on how to identify an American sitcom. ;) Cue the next 'Oooooooo'. Wave

People who have no idea what they are talking about but lecture you how to do your job.

I think I'd be a tad more grateful in your position...
