Okay people, as there's been a bit of Funk appreciation on here over the last few days, I think it's time to pull out this beast: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTHTPxPRGYQ&feature=related

Excellent choice, that track is a right cracker!! If I remember rightly, that track was done in a studio for films, and was part of a soundtrack!! (Part of one of James Brown's blaxploitation projects) Totally off the wall, and way beyond its time!! (Stuff like that only began to surface in the 80s afterwards, with off the wall SFX)

Listening to myself on the Untruths podcast. How bizarre!

And people say you're self-obsessed! :P

I'm checking it for embarassment levels before I share it on my blog!

Amos Lee - very nice background music.

:| Gone to bed ill, listening to bbc4 radio world service, usually good and relaxing.

Reminding myself of the good old days! (Well....2008 in this instance ;) )

Also been listening to some rare gospel gems sent generously by a good friend! :D

:)
Thanks for pic, cheered me up!
Listening to PM with Eddie Mair, all about Libya and wars everywhere, now slowly sinking back into depression, so will turn over to radio6. Huh?

As a mainly rock/pop fan I appreciate Funk as it has balls and like Cameo and Ce-Lo Green.

Listening to Queen of the Hours by ELO from the first album including Roy Wood on a compilation. Now Showdown which I think is brilliant.

That's good! :D Eramus Hall was a spin-off project that involved Bootsy Collins, so it has that wonderful bizarre quantity about it! :) "Stuck In The Mud" is the best groove on it!

Cameo are awesome! Larry Blackmon had the best hi-top fade haircut EVER! Cameo were a group that moved with the times into the 80s and 90s very well.

And as a funk fan, I love ELO! Great harmonies! One of the first albums I got was an ELO compilation. Beautiful!

Just had a quick listen, well done and hats off to being brave enough to do stand up

Thanks :)

Arcade Fire's new album. Only umpteen years behind everyone else.

I was listening to that yesterday. And most days in fact. I like to restrict what I've got on my iPhone.

I still use a wind-up gramophone. When I'm not listening to the wireless.
