In the comments under the blog entry, Hannah states:

Regards to the script being over 30 pages, that's fine, we understand it's not an exact science. As a guideline I tend to use the rule of approx 10% or 15% difference either way (so a 30 minute script could be anywhere between 26 to 34 pages in length) however much more than that and we would have to look more closely to see if the scipt qualifies.

How on earth can you get a 30 minute script into 24 pages? That wasn't said by a writer. No doubt that'll be a double spaced script as well... :D

Could be a silent sitcom.

Maybe they talk REAAAALLLLLLYYY SLOOWWWWWWLLLLLYYYY.

Or it's just something where not much happens on the page.

JAMES watches the TV. A vacant look on his face. He watches for a minute.

JAMES
I wish I was dead.

He watches for a minute more. His cat, TOBY walks in.

JAMES
Toby, I wish I was dead.

TOBY
Good. 'Cos I'm going to f**king kill you.

TOBY kills JAMES.

<canned laughter>

Dan

There'd totally be an "OHHHHHHHH!" from the can of laughter. Right before James met his maker.

The remaining 24 minutes of the episode would be canned laughter on loop as James lies there dead.

A surefire comedy winner. Everyone else is wasting their time.

I wish that script existed.

(Sorry for the double post)

SCRIPTZILLA.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/writersroom/2011/02/last_day_for_laughing_stock.shtml

Scary huh? Not sure that's all of it either.

Trying to see if I can spot one of the silver Royal Mail Special Delivery envelopes, mine went in one. I think there's a couple up top Laughing out loud

one of them scripts looks like a 2 hr film WTF!

Haha, I thought that, near the top of the second pile from the left?

yep! sent mine like last tuesday. Best to forget about it now and just start something new.

Yeah, sent mine special delivery last Monday, they got it on Tuesday.

Don't fancy my chances at all, which is probably why it's more acceptable to send the same story/series to Sitcom Mission, difference being they're getting an episode two as it's better to not send an episode one to them.

Not that I'd get anywhere in either comp! Laughing out loud

I first read about this 40 days ago, and 40 days ago I told myself I had 40 days to get something done and 40 days later I wonder where the time went and why I didn't get anything sent.

Maybe next year!

Well this has been interesting! I've only just joined tonight, but I have been reading your posts for the last week. I sent my script for Laughing Stock on Thursday. Anyway I just wanted to say hi to everyone Wave and to wish you all luck! ;) Oh and a special hello to Feeoree as you're from my home town of Bas'
