I really ought to keep up with modern funk releases. I tend to be dismissive, then end up eating my sentiments after. A group I like called "Beige" did a relatively unknown album release in 2005, and I've ordered that off Amazon. Gonna be great!

I'm an 80s head, myself. Love all of the 80s funk tracks, like this one. Roger Troutman & Zapp, Slave (my favourite of all!), Ivy, daKRASH, Reel To Real etc. Occasionally collect the odd record etc.

They participated in Stax funded concert in Watts in 1972, and were probably the best group that performed. Here they were at that concert.

Yeah, me too. There's some exclusive 45 only songs that just can't be obtained anywhere else, even in compilations. A few labels like "Jazzman" and "Funk45" have started reissuing some of the really rare tracks onto new 7 inch pressings, but there's still a heck of a lot that are largely unknown, especially ones from the late 70s and 80s.
