Eating a fudge brownie with peanut butter frosting. Very yummy, but I'm now on my second glass of milk.
Ooh, that sounds nice.

I actually baked some bread overnight. Took a chance with an old pot of yeast. Made two mistakes there, don't use "pots" of yeast and don't use the yeast when it's a few months old. The bread still tastes okay, just a bit dense and flat.

WANT.
Reminds me of these, that I want to make.
I don't think I've ever made bread from scratch at home. Using yeast is too complicated.

I thought you had worked in a bakery?
Well, yeast now-a-days can be straight from the packet. So it's not too hard. If the process was quicker and I had a bigger bread machine*, I would bake a lot more. But it is just easy to pick a loaf up from the shop.
*Yes, bread machine. Don't think I was kneading that shizzle myself for a few hours.
Yeah, only a little bakery in a shop - all that yeasty floury stuff came ready mixed!
Ahh. Well I think the few times I tried it w/o a bread machine I was not successful. But I am tempted to give it a go, so I can get a bigger loaf if anything.

Oh yeah, home made pizza dough it excellent. Although it can easily become too doughy, too thin or too thick. But when it works, it really nice.
The invention of bread has long since fascinated me. I wonder how long it took mankind to visualise a lovely steaming loaf whenever they saw those fields of gleaming wheat before them. I expect they were used as primitive darts for millenia until someone accidently extracted the powdery stuff while it was raining, and had one of those eureka moments.
We used to make awesome bread but we stopped for some reason. By hand, I must add.
Saturday is always baking day for me. So, today I made:
Banana bread
chocolate chip breakfast muffins
6 loaves of white bread
brownies with peanut butter icing
apple cobbler
*goes to live with Andie*
The more the merrier...
6 loavesss?
Wow.
And yum.
