You should read these reviews from the US -

I couldn't believe what I was reading!

Well, there we are. Just goes to show how much better the Americans are at comedy, doesn't it.

(And how much more appreciative).

Not obvious to me, at least. And if it was 'equally obvious', how come you got the wrong end of the stick with my post??

And so any comment regarding his Friends work is pointless.

That's two and a half series worth over here!

Last of the Summer Wine lasted 31 years, and it still wasn't funny!

*wonders what these things called real people are*

Hurtful bastards who seek to destroy what little emotional and physical well-being I have.

Sorry this is all off topic, Aaron, I'm out of practice.

So, am I one of the few fans of this show? Kinda seems that way.

I remember when Seefacts went off to mix with real people.

Yeah, and what happened to him? Eh? Eh?!

Really enjoying this now, took a couple of episodes to really get going but it's a very good show.

One joke from the last episode had me in stiches:

"All I've heard for the last 6 months is rape, rape, rape, rape, rape, rape. It's enough to make you want to do it."

Each to his own, I guess... Errr

Well I found it funny and I know a few others who did. ;)

*raises hand*

I quite enjoyed tonight's. Some funny lines and more going on than usual.

I wasn't sure what I thought about this show. It felt like it had a lot of formulaic scenarios (purposefully avoiding the word cliché here because what is life if not one big cliché? So, clichés in my opinion not necessarily bad, more about the presentation and what you do with them).

But it has been growing on me. Especially after yesterday's episode where many of those formulaics were given added purpose.

Spoiler alert!

I didn't get why they put that car crash reel in the first episode, but now I do, I felt how my perceptions of the scenario had changed completely, and sure, it's a storytelling method that has been done before, but haven't they all? I liked the effect it had on me.

Also, I was pleasantly surprised with the aftermath of the car crash. At first I was sure Matt had died. Then when he got out I thought, wha, did she die? Then I thought, is she now paralyzed (ultimately changing Sean bit by bit into a shadow figure of Merc)? But no. She was in shock. And it's that shock and the feeling of total defragmentation that makes one understand why she'd cave in to temptation. After having rant after another about how slimy such behavior is and given Sean such a hard time about it.

I dunno. I felt the irony worked on many levels.

Reminds me a bit of Outnumbered or Getting On in the way that it brings out the subtle humour of everyday scenarios.

God! The scene between Merc & Sean in the restaurant really dragged - and nothing happened.
And they're still going on about the size of his dick - sheesh!
Do you think Matt le Blanc had that written in - in fact wouldn't it be great if the show was so shit because of all the changes he and the producers insisted on.
Oh, sweet irony.

For some reason I keep thinking Merc's wife is just pretending to be blind.

I saw her on Spooks and she was a US spy and she seemed to be able to see. :O
