Have you thought about talking to a lifecoach?

"Life coaching is a future-focused practice with the aim of helping clients determine and achieve personal goals. Life coaches select from among several methods to help clients set and reach goals. Coaches are not therapists nor consultants" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_coaching#Life_coaching

Hi everyone. Some retirement that was - I lasted 2 days.

It is only a flying visit mind and follows Ellie's Facebook message saying I should come back and take a look at the thread. I have to say I was really surprised and the number of comments - I thank you all, it means more than you know.

Just to let you know how I've used my time since Thursday I've applied for four jobs and got feed back from two. One looks good for an interview but the other I'm now having second thoughts on because I might just be shifting sideways to a very similar job in the same sector which seems a bit pointless despite my experience. I don't want be going through this again any time soon so I'm almost certainly going to reply and say 'thanks but no thanks'.

At home I've finally cleared all the boxes from the lounge corner which had been there, ahem, 18 months so that's an important step and a good feeling too. We had a table top stall at the school and made £20 so a bit of decluttering and cash can't be bad.

Anyway, thanks again. I will be back but I'm just giving myself some space to focus on other things for a bit but fear not, I'm already mentally storing up ideas for 'the worst idea for a sitcom thread' :)

:)

I suppose it depends on your personal experience. I knew a writer who rated hers very highly in helping her career (she's now published in 8 languages).

What are your objections?

Could you offer a more reasoned response? I'm genuinely interested, because I've not heard people speak out against lifecoaching before, so I'd like to hear what's possibly wrong with it.

It's over priced pseudo counselling mixed in with career advice for those that don't really need it.

If you'd like some coaching I could fit you in next week? £30 an hour sound about right?
