Not Going Out - Series 4 Page 18
That's a bit disappointing, if true.
I imagine Lee Mack and the rest of the cast and crew are gutted, too.
Maybe the Ghost of Sitcoms Past visited him in the night and showed him the terrible future of sitcoms if NGO continued. He was right to heed this terrible warning. I hope it means we will all be watching genuine sitcoms again soon.
Er, yes, Kipper. Whatever you say.
I can just about imagine it without Tim. Slightly moreso than I can imagine it without Lee, anyway. So if they wanted to carry on and replace him with another comedian, I think it could work.
I can also see them stopping completely though, unfortunately.
I think they should end it if Tim or Lee quit.
They should end it if Tim quites, but Lee Mack should probably write another sitcom in a similar style. I remember him saying in an interview that he would like to write a sitcom about a family - that would be cool.
I think they should do a special to finish off the story, unless Lee and Lucy get together in the next episode (as then there would be no point).
If Tim Vine really does quit, then Mack should write a version where Lee and Lucy get together to start a family!
I'm just kidding, I think they should just end it.
I'd like to see Tim and Lucy get together.
Then you're weird.
It'll be a shame if Tim quits. This is a great show. There's no need for it to end if he does, though. The show is a Lee Mack vehicle and I'm sure the team could come up with a suitable replacement.
Jeremy Hardy. Maybe?
In my opinion Simon Evans would make a pretty good replacement, plus he's already part of the writing team.
However I would be very sad to see Tim leave the show and, in some ways, I think it'd be better to end it.
Ken Dodd. He could be this shows Kramer.

It seems very American to someone used to rooms being off a corridor.
I've lived in and seen flats like that. They do exist - particularly in the kind of penthouse/converted warehouse development Lee and Lucy are obviously supposed to live in.
Just watched Fireworks. A little low on the laugh count, but there were some great gags scattered throughout. Not the best episode but not by any means 'bad'.
I think, if Tim does quit the show (a story which I have my own suspicions about), there is good mileage for it to continue in a fairly natural way. The only issue would be how smooth and naturalistic to make his character's departure. But I can see it working, and taking on some great new ground, fairly easily.
