Not Going Out - Series 4 Page 17

Great series, on the whole. Loved it. Come back soon.

Dan

There's another one next week!

It did feel a bit like an end of series epiosde though. I wonder if they swapped the order around?

I haven't really watched much of this program but I have caught the odd 10 minutes here and there. I think there are plenty of good gags and jokes but that Lee Mack should stick to what he knows best and leave the acting to the actors (same for Tim Vine).

This show has a huge and enthusiastic following which one cannot help but be impressed by and all credit to them.

I personally loathe it. I agree with you on the acting front, a sitcom can flourish with one standup comic in a lead role, but two - in my opinion - is a mistake.

Is there?! I thought that was the last one!

Cool. Well, come back soon after next week! :)

I agree with this.

It was nice that Sally got some more lines. The show's meant to be about her relationship with Lee, right? We've barely seen her this series.

I thought so too. Really nice ending aswell, which as people have said, felt like the end of the series- glad there is still a week left though. I liked that just as you thought it was getting a little too warm and fuzzy, the old lady started hitting the hell out of Lee again!

Like last week's, took a while to get going, but once it did absoulte class. Fantastic. You get so many belly laughs in an episode it is great.

What this show needs is to pick up the pace on its gag count. Seems terribly slow to me and at one stage last night I had to wait at least 1.5 seconds between two funny lines.

Come on Lee. You're getting lazy.

Absabloodylutely love it! Funniest thing on TV for a God damn long time x <3

Is it wrong of me to find Lucy incredibly attractive?

What would be wrong about that?? She's hardly a beast, is she.

Can't say I noticed... Whistling nnocently ;)

Enjoyed this week's episode, it was on top form as usual. The ending was a bit cheesy yet for some reason I found myself smiling all the way through it. I know it's a comedy show but that's the kind of sad git that I am. It was a nice warm ending and that's fine, provided you don't do it every week.

My only criticism about this series would be Tim's girlfriend. We know that she's a bit thick and we get that, but does every scene involving her character have to constantly remind us of that? It's getting very predictable and I'm starting to find the character quite irritating. Her line about "following your nose" made me cringe, it just wasn't funny at all. Maybe it's just me.

Every single gag in the show is predictable, every punchline is railroaded into a flimsy storyline built around these cheap useless gags.

Does anyone have a flat like Sally and Lee's? (or Miranda's, for that matter)? Or know anyone who has a flat like that?

It seems very American to someone used to rooms being off a corridor.

I am not sure Americans have flats are like that either; it is an imported TV convention.

I did laugh this week, but had a slightly uneasy feeling that senile dementia was being used as a source of cheap gags, perhaps because I suspected that rather than this being an accurate portrayal of dementia heightened for comic effect, which would have been fine in my book, her behaviour just seemed a bit random and driven by the gags. Perhaps I am being unfair though, I do not have much experience of senile dementia, but would be interested in the views of those who do....er...Chappers?
