lummycorks, you are taking some of the things people post on this board far too personally - and in this case, I don't know what exactly you read, but it wasn't what Jack posted. He expressed his dislike for two characters and you have a go at him for "insulting actors"?

My thoughts entirely, hence my rather sarcastic reply >_<

Anyone remember First of the Summer Wine? I used to prefer that as a kid.

Yes was quite funny, great idea to have Peter Sallis play Clegg's dad. Roy Clarke said the show's axing was the biggest disappointment of his career

Very good show, First Of The Summer Wine.

Never been a fan of this show. It's too silly and predictable. But I liked the basic idea. I love the film Cocoon.

I enjoyed it at the time. Can't remember much of it now.

I fell into an extended watch during the recent run and as has been said, it's not a bad watch really. I just think it's amazing that Roy Clarke could be bothered to write it for so long. Maybe the need to rope in other semi-retired actors and actresses kept his interest going.

The cast list is massive these days but that's probably coz they can only act for 2 minutes before needing a sit down and have a cup of tea.

The last episode had some pretty famous names in actually:

Peter Sallis... Clegg
Frank Thornton... Truly
Brian Murphy... Alvin
Kathy Staff... Nora
Barbara Young... Florrie
Tommy Cannon... Cliff
Bobby Ball... Lenny
Burt Kwouk... Entwistle
Jane Freeman... Ivy
Juliette Kaplan... Pearl
June Whitfield... Nelly
Sarah Thomas... Glenda
Mike Grady... Barry
Robert Fyfe... Howard
Josephine Tewson... Miss Davenport
Jean Fergusson... Marina
Jean Alexander... Auntie
Tom Owen... Tom

Funny that The guy playing Barry is now 62 when he was playing a comparative kid when he started. Clegg is 87 by the way - Cripes!

Now Peter Sallis has had his 90th birthday on 1st February 2011.

But Aaron, he was being rude.

I just joined a LOTSW forum and someone had posted on there about the cafe.

Think of the inside and where the kitchen in relation to the window.

Then picture the outside.

There's nowhere for the kitchen to go !

:D
