Really good night.
All sketches went down great apart from that single awful disastrous one.
But we all swore we'd never speak of it again.

I quite liked that one. And it was great to meet Don at last. Cheers for the drinks Don!
Any more feedback on any of the sketches or information about the night?
Yeah, go on!
I was busy meeting Tony Cowards. He's alright, you know!

Turns out the woman who bought me a drink wasn't Don after all. Apologies for any confusion on both parts.
Quote: Ponderer @ February 2 2011, 3:15 PM GMTCan't make tonight sadly, so if anyone could let me know how 'Paxman's Fluffer' goes I'd be grateful.
One of my favourites of the night - I really liked the 50% line.
Quote: Tony Cowards @ January 31 2011, 12:32 PM GMTOne is the "Bond Villain helpline" which people might remember from this very forum (or it could be "Bond Villain interview", I sent both and they've not specified which it is) and the other is called "Bomb disposal officer".
Bond Villain helpline and Bomb Disposal - both very good. They got a good few laughs out of the no/yes part in the former.
Quote: swerytd @ January 31 2011, 8:31 PM GMTThey are doing two of mine: Moon Landings and Surgical Abandonment. If one of you lovely people could tell me how they went I shall inform everyone of how good a stand-up Tony is!
Dan
Both worked well Dan - just shows Newsjack sketches can still have a life outside their topical slot (though I assume the Moon Landings wasn't from the 1969 series of Newsjack?)

I took one look at your missus and scarpered.
That was no lady
That was me.
So I happen to drink Pink Cocktails! What of it?

Cheers lots, Badge!
I can't remember what the moon landings thing was now -- I suspect it was the old 'Moon landings are faked!' that comes up each time there isn't a revolution in the world nor has any footballer done anything that week...
Dan
The moon landings one was about the moon landings being faked but being faked actually on the moon.
All the sketches were good and I recognised a couple from Critique. I don't know who it belonged to but my favourite sketch was about a Poole FM radio phone-in.
I managed to record the show and on a quick listen it sounds like it came out OK. I know they're hoping to do a podcast but if I get time at the weekend I'll snip out the bits people have claimed and PM you the mp3s. Don't hold your breath though, I may not actually have any time this weekend.
Cool -- cheers Afinkawan.
I know the sketch, btw, cos I wrote it, but I meant I can't remember why the story came up to inspire(/perspire?) the sketch.

Thanks Badge. Now if only I could remember the 50% line...

Thanks Afinkawan, that would be lovely.
Hi Guys,
Thank you so much again for your brilliant contributions. It was another great show and we did record it so I'm going to work out how to podcast it.
For March's show, could you please try to get new submissions to me by 18 February as I'm going away till the 28th. If you send stuff after that, please send it to my writing partner, Maureen at maureen@oakeley.freeserve.co.uk. In fact, to play it safe, cc both of us on all submissions. My address again is lydia.parker27@gmail.com.
We'll try to record the next show as well but it's great having so many writers coming to the show and supporting it. We really enjoy meeting you all too!
Thanks,
Lydia
