Character Acts

I would really value any recommendations you could give me as to character acts I could watch.

I'm sort of toying with the idea of writing one for a friend to perform, but the only ones I know are all done by Coogan.

Is there anything on DVD? Ideally a stand-alone single performer rather than a troupe or a sitcom.

I'm really interested in seeing how a solo character sells him/herself to a crowd.
