I haven't seen much of Suarez, but I'm looking forward to seeing him in the premier league.

How the hell is Andy Carroll worth £30 million?

£35m apparently, it makes our deal for Darren Bent look value :)

Football has gone mad! (Carroll is VERY good though.)

I think the Carroll fee is higher because his salary would be that much lower. Even if his wage goes from the reported £25k to £50k that would still be considerably less than what a Torres type replacement who would be on £100k a week. Over the course of a 4 year contract that be worth about £10m.

He was the top c**t. But £35m is a great price and I'm sure the fat c**t will spend it wisely, at the casino tomorrow.

How thoroughly depressing.

My team, Palace, have signed England 'C' international Dean Moxey!

*air punch*

Errr Nils please relieve the boredom of the same epithet 'C**t', surely you can find a suitable adjective without being so offensive to posters?.

I'm just going with the flow.

Laughing out loud Can I suggest 'Smeg-end'?.

No.

Watford 1 - 1 Palace

Decent result for Palace on paper, as they say.

Nice comment I read in that new 20p paper that I didn't realise was an Independent offshoot ! Angry

'£35 million for a player who has more convictions for assault than he does England caps!'

:D

According to Man United's 1999-2000 season review on Wikipedia, you'd think the FA Cup as a competition simply didn't take place that year.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999%E2%80%932000_Manchester_United_F.C._season

With the furore surrounding their non-participation at the time you'd think it warranted an acknowledgement of some description.

That reminds me of this great goal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuiOPuNe0N0

I can remember trying to recreate that goal myself, back then. I'm gonna try to teach my nephew how to do it as well, when he starts playing.

I bumped into Sian Massey and I said, "Are you aware of the uproar caused after you officiated at the Liverpool v Wolves game? I mean, two Sky Sports pundits were..."
"Yeah yeah," she interrupted. "Tell me something I don't know."
So I explained the offside rule.
