When Leevil's Head Talks... (Video)

My first real live action video piece.

So this is me doing a weird bit of rambling comedy (not comedy about rambling) and I'm in character of course If you like em, I'll do more. I tried writing it but I found making it up on the spot much more natural and flowing, as I couldn't remember the lines, lol.

I'm playing a character, who feels the need to post his amazing thoughts and philosophies on life, which he's thought whilst sitting on the toilet.

Yeah sound quality is awful man, I found I was really straining to hear what you were saying.

You kept jumping round on you chair a looked figety and nervous but as you say first one so let you off but try and sit a little more still lol
*I now know that this was "in character".

Overall though for a first piece pretty good, You framed it well, the pacing was a little wonky sound a little dodgy but "he" could happily sit with the rest of the 'tubers' in their own little bizzare video blog worlds.

He is meant to be a little nervous, fidgety little fella, but I suppose for a more comfortable viewing maybe I should sit more still. But then again, if I want it to be realistic I should throw out all consideration for the viewer and keep in tradition of the youtube video blog.

Leevil - it was like going back to my uni days and having one of those late night discussions with my mates after a few..... Very random, and i did let a little smile appear on my face!

Anyway, checked out the video. I'm glad I then went and re-read your introduction and noticed the 'in character' bit - it saved me from having to associate you with being some real life mental!

To be honest I think your scripted stuff is stronger than this video - but it did bring a smile to my face. You're clearly ok in front of the camera though so stick at it!

Cheers Mark. It was a mixture of boredom and more boredom that went into creating this video. I'm glad it raised a smile and from all the feedback, I shall hopefully be able to produce something much stronger next time.

"Inspired by" Karl Pilkington, maybe? Intentionally or not.

I agree with the earlier comments, but would add that the odd silence or pause for thought might help cos it could make the character more convincing. You have the face to pull it off to camera (fnarr, fnaar) but there's the odd moment when it looks like you are concentrating on keeping on rambling.

That's taken me a good few months to figure out.

Well Lee you're not as ugly as expected in fact the word must be cherubic!

Haven't got sound at work so can't hear your pearls of wisdom but I'll have a listen at home... it looks good mate!!!

Do Stand Up you'll be good at it with that character. Sure you'll get heckled and maybe beaten up but its far less dangerous than Women's Rugby. But seriously that character would work.

Haha! Cheers Adam. I think I better have a sit down and develop that character a bit more and try and write some stuff, even if it's just notes to keep me on track, plus some clever editing to keep it interesting.
