British Comedy Guide

Internet comedy

Hi everyone,

It seems to me that the newest place for comedians to showcase their work before they get a series in on this thing they call the internet.... Therefore have you found any good sites devoted just to comedy? I know that the E4 site has closed down due to lack of funding which is outragous since they throw money at shit TV shows, you'd think they could save a bit for a website! I know chortle.co.uk show some clips daily, and I hve just found www.funnyordie.co.uk which is the british version of Will Ferrell's site in the US. They seem to let anyone upload any "funny" videos, but their FOD Exclusives seem to be really funny - I particularly like Finger Gun:

Anyone know any other good sites (apart from YouTube of course)?

Tom

Hi Tom. Check out www.channel101.com.

http://www.channel101.com/shows/view.php?media_id=2525

Just about picked my jaw up off the floor after seeing how many views these guys are getting for their average sketches. Check this one out - I mean it's alright but does it really warrant that many views?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uJE48aKVNo&list=SL

www.b3ta.com is good (though at this moment it seems to be down) and I think it was one of their posters called "Happytoast" (I could be wrong) got commissioned to do work for BBC2 (whether it was a series or just a few sketches, I cannot remember).

Hell, it coulda been Channel 4 (or E4) who gave him work.

Basically the long and short of this is, someone of b3ta whose name I'm unsure of did some work for a TV channel I'm unsure of

I contribute to B3TA a bit myself. There are quite a few B3tans who've had TV success. The insane but brill Cyriak Harris has done well.

Cyriak has done some ace stuff on b3ta. Non-b3tans might have seen his work on the title sequence for Dave Gorman's Genius.

I don't know how much success Happy Toast has had but he deserves it if he's had any, his work is also great - here's a picture he did of me as a zombie:

www.b3ta.com is good

One of my favourite sites, mostly because of the fun photoshopping.

Goes to show, good marketing savvy is often more important these days than actually being funny.

(Unless it's one bloke who's watched it 60 million times.)

We made this if that will entertain anyone for three mins?

And this one!

any feedback would be great!

we're trying to see if it's actually funny, and how we can improve!
xx
