I was a little worried last night listening to the News Quiz - it took 16 minutes for Paul Sinha to mention he's gay Rolling eyes

Bit unfair. He's never struck me as a comedian who milks his homosexuality. And his joke 16 minutes in was pretty funny.

:D Unlike You then a lot quicker !

Don't really like any of the new radio stuff. I liked stuff like Round the Horne, The Navy Lark and Huddlines. Sometimes I listen to the Radio 7 repeats of stuff like Hancock, Steptoe and Son and To the Manor Born.

Just listening to Tom Wrigglesworth's Open Letters. Good to see cutting edge rants about Traffic Wardens still has a home on Radio 4. Rolling eyes

It also seemed to contain an inordinate amount of "fat" jokes. I don't mind the odd fat joke, but a large chunk seemed to be built around sniping at a guys weight (albeit a crimnal, but still).

Has that hit a nerve Chip!

No, but I like to see myself as a protector of the downtrodden and a warrior against cliched comedy. Cool

Is Tom Wrigglesworth the one who sounds like Daniel Kitson with the Comedy removed?

There's a good new pick of the week podcast.
I will get a chance to hear a few Radio comedys that I wouldn't usually catch.

Just A Minute was good this week. Gyles Brandreth is extraordinary. I really must go and see his show at Edinburgh this year.

I thought it was dreadful, Shappi Korsandi was awful, extremely unfunny and didn't seem to understand the rules and Rick Wakeman wasn't much better (although, to be fair, it was his first time).

I was amused to hear Nicholas Parsons listing "being pretty" as one of Shappi's contributions to the preceding 30 minutes of radio.

Nothing like being eye candy on radio.

Listening to that episode on the BBC's new New Comedy podcast on my phone the other day I almost split my sides.

Admittedly, it was only almost because I resisted the strong desire to jump in front of the passing traffic.

:| Just listened to Tom wigglesworth, rather overlong about plumbing, and Chuckle brothers, needs a couple of complaints to spread the 'fun'.
Last saturdays 'News Quiz' Sandi Toksvig, 5 feb, was a treat, I like the female Susan Calman her accent is a killer!.
