I love Classic Who, and hate New Who. The Sonic Screwdriver can do anything. I also hate the companions wanting to pounce on the Doctor. John Simm's Master was just a joke.
Classic also had stories that took time to develop characters.

I got the Robot DVD at Christmas. Hadn't seen it since it was first out on VHS. Great start to Tom Baker's tenure.

Its a decent Hartnell story, considering the effort the actor put in to working nearly 50 weeks a year.

Sure, it's okay, but there's much better in the old stuff. Here are a couple off the top of my head that you haven't mentioned:
Spearhead From Space
Ghost Light
Horror Of Fang Rock
Tomb Of The Cybermen
There's a couple, all better than War Machines, in my worthless view, anyway.
