British Comedy Guide

Reading comedy scripts?

Hi,

While spending the past five hours trying to find scripts to read. Can anyone point me in the direction to help me find British TV comedy scripts?

Thanks
Andy

You could buy a book. There are numerous sets of scripts available in varying forms. Some are original scripts, some are transcripts of what was recorded. Off the top of my head, some of the books available are: Little Britain, Porridge, Fawlty Towers, The Office, Green Wing, Blackadder, and I think The League Of Gentlemen.

The scripts from Yes Minister and Yes, Prime Minister were also re-written into a diary format and published in a number of volumes under the title The Diaries Of The Right Hon. James Hacker. Here's one of them.

The whole of Dad's Army in two volumes. Seinfeld scripts are available.

And there are some free scripts to be found at the BBC's Writersroom as well.

All of Red Dwarf and Bottom are here. Others are just links to script books, all of which are very good in my experience.
