SootyJ never does Smileys
Getting one from him is akin to being Knighted

In communist Russia

Sootyj does not do emoticons ever.

They are for the weak.

I just don't like people thinking the site is just an unfriendly place for Newbies.
If you scratch the surface then you'll find it's also quite bitchy

hurtful words I type at random.

Leave Random out of it, he hardly ever posts on here anymore.

For what it's worth I don't give a toss if Vroom wants to stay or go.

You get a Badge for that Badge, you charmer you!

Not that cancer is funny, but that the idea that if Cancer were a person, who had lost it's job - how would Mr Cancer feel and behave.

It's a surreal notion.

Cancer wouldn't be evil. It's simply doing a job that us humans make easier for it.

Also our perception of cancer in the 1st world - How we face child cancer with horror compared with how we regard cancer in the elderly (both as a sufferer and a relative of a sufferer).

Then my observation that we disregard (in the west) the Cancer timebomb in the 3rd world. We still sell them cigarettes and buy their products that are sourced from carcinogenic processes.

I'm not an intellectual, clearly - I'm just a lay person seeing the world through regular eyes.

I will give the benefit of doubt- however only a female with large breasts knows the anguish of yearly mammograms, you must know this.
As one in ten will definitely get cancer I suppose we need to address same, it will require sensitivity, perhaps more maligneed antithopy?
Pleased

How I lost my job as a Cancer

I'll be honest, I actually liked the concept. I thought it was original and darkly funny. But I just feel like the sketch no where near does justice to the concept.

Yes, and I'm not sorry to say this, byt everything is and can be funny -- including cancer, rape, and AIDS. The question is context and implementation. I think maybe on those fronts you need to think how you can better deliver your idea. :)

Anthropromorphising illnesses is pretty old and pretty hack.

The Readers Digest has been doing it for years.

Why not look at the way Fight Club does exactly the same joke but funny? And effecting.

Or even Disney's the sword and the stone.

I'm sorry, but I can't agree with the idea that it is "hack". There's nowt wrong with the idea at all.

I've read it and decided that you have enough negative comments from me already, so the best thing I can do is say nothing. Sorry...

....I'm a Pavlovian Droid. My cause has a yucky effect (On so many.... including myself)

Surely all droids are Pavlovian in nature by design?

I think vroomboo has shown flashes of genius in some of her/his writing. Certainly some great and original ideas have been presented.

That's probably why some of the comments have seemed harsh - because this person was worth bothering about.
The seed of greatness might be present but will it ever germinate?

The emails I've been sent and the messages left on this post have been such a kind relief. I know everyone on this Forum isn't one big gang - we're all individuals sharing opinions.

I had felt I was revolting to 'the forum' and fighting 'the forum' - which is a silly idea. I certainly would rather learn and write comedy then bitch and fight (aka waste time).

I honestly want to improve. It's nice to get good feedback just to keep my ego away from the zero mark - but I'm really learning from the specific insight of why it's not working. General sweeping statements of 'Rubbish' are worthless to me - and I'm sure not a great joy for the author to write (ummm?)

Anything I dare post in the future will be as cut down and edited as much as possible. There is a few themes that came up from all your comments.

1 - cut away all the flim flam, edit edit edit.
2 - write something funny - for GOODNESS sake!
3 - humilty on a TV comedy show is ugly and pointless unless you're Stephen Fry, however on this forum it's an essential introductory factor.

her/his writing.

Yes - my sex is irrelevant and I like that.

I want it to germinate - I will germinate!

Nice to see you have come back Vroomboo.
