I haven't read it, but I have read a lot of other Phillip K Dick books, and I imagine the actual text is a lot different to the Arnie flick; in which case a more faithful adaptation may be interesting.

The short story is massively different from the film, and ends with a talking squirrel, so it might be quite interesting. And Schwarzenegger's acting was always the weak link in the original.
