Everyone was extra-nice to him.

This is starting to sound like the plot to an episode of Magnum..

Before Christmas I had to draw up an organogram for the office I work in; to make it more interesting I decided to represent each of the members of the team with a character from Peanuts. My colleagues turned out to be a uncannily good match to the Peanuts crew. In each case it was a obvious which character should stand for which team member.

I came out as Linus. *sucks thumb and reaches for security blanket*

I bet Pig Pen was happy

I was a little anxious on that score, but he really was a perfect fit.

Charlie.. Brown .. Line us
I've just realised that Peanuts was all about drugs

I blame Woodstock.

New Peanuts film gets good reviews.

Peanuts began in 1950, when whimsical humour was all the rage (see the current Punch cartoon thread for more of that). I also read Peanuts had an estimated audience of 350 million. Here's the trailer:

I love Peanuts, but there's an Argentinian equivalent, in which most of the characters are kids, which for me is even better, called Mafalda. Very sharp, political comments, and very funny. You have to speak Spanish to appreciate it, although I imagine there are translations. It's famous in Spain.
