Belly of the Beast

This is another Star Wars one I'm afraid!! I'm fairly confident I can do the CGI for this one so it will probably be my next filmed sketch. Let me know what you think :)

Belly of the Beast

Chris is eating Monster munch in his living room, we see a mysterious tentacle appear. Chris throws a crisp at whatever owns the tentacle. Pan out and we see Chris has a Sarlacc's pit in the floor of his living room.

CHRIS
Good Sarlacc!

FADE OUT - FADE IN

We see the door handle turn, James enters the room.

JAMES
Chris!!! Wha... What's the crack?!

CHRIS
I bought a Sarlacc on eBay!

JAMES
We can't keep a Sarlacc in the living room! What if someone falls in?!

CHRIS
Dont worry! I made this.

Chris produces a sign that has a graphic of someone falling into the pit with the words 'Mind the Gap'

JAMES
(Sarcasm)
Oh well that's alright then! ...My parents are coming over in a bit and the living room has a f**king Vagina!

CHRIS
Your Dad will love this! On a completely un-related subject, have you seen the Cat today?

James peers 'horrified' into the Sarlacc's pit. Chris stands up. they both peer in.

CHRIS
The Cat's probably just gone out....you know, to the shops or something.

JAMES
You've got to get rid of the Sarlacc.

CHRIS
But I love the Sarlacc!

They continue peering in, Chris looks upset, he thinks about it for a second, and then he pushes James into the Pit.

JAMES
Aaaargh!!

CHRIS
Can you see Mr Tiddles?

JAMES
(V.O. From inside the Sarlacc)
You bastard!

Chris notices something.

CHRIS
Oh hang on! There he is.

Cut to shot of cat asleep on sofa.

Like it Shoepie. Can't wait to see it made. :D

Cheers Will Cam. I'm going to do some simple CG tests this evening, see if I can pull it off. Will post here if they work :)

Excellent stuff ShoePie, looking forward to watching it on the YouTube screen

Thanks a lot Chopz!

Preliminary CG testing went well, I should have a test shot to show soon.

Nice work, Kerry, I hope the film does the script justice.

Thumbs up from me

Great stuff Shoepie as always. Looking forward to seeing this one. Love the 'cat gone to the shops' line :)

Thanks all - A Question!

Is the Vagina joke worth keeping? Without it this becomes a fairly inoffensive sketch which would increase it's possible viewership. I like the line a lot but I'm not sure how much it really adds.

Maybe exchange the word 'f**king' for 'big'.

This is nearly always the case with the word 'f**king'. Big is better.

Re the sketch:

It's just this really -

As much as I love the idea (and boy do I love the idea). There's no more to it.

I don't know, it's got a little action in it and it doesn't outstay its welcome. Sometimes it's best not to overthink a good premise.

Idea: why don't you replace the word "vagina" with "pussy", and then you could say "Oh so the cat ISN'T missing then?" :D

I thought I'd post this test footage I shot. It's not very well blended together and I'm hoping to make it less floaty once I work out the software.

Thanks for all the comments. I was really thinking that the V-word reference was rude and if I lost it, this could be watched by kids. I will defo record a 'big' take when we shoot though.

Cheers Godot. True, but I agree with David. It'll be about a minute long, bounce a few jokes off the idea and then get out.

I'm hoping the Cat being alive is a sort of a twist too. If nothing else it will get my Cat an IMDB credit.

Good job on the animation test, Kerry. I trust you'll be adding a little more detail to the finished article?
