Too Far, Jimmy Carr? Page 10

This is the most racist thing I have ever heard.

We should blow up the BBC and ban all chocolate based food stuffs imeditately.

I am ashamed to not be Nelsom Mandela today.

"You can't even run over a poofter in your car thesedays in case it might offend a Jew. It's political correctness gone mad, Stew!"

Is that a quote?

It's them disabled, foreigns with the gayness I blame.

Jeremy CLarkson is actually a pygmy with 3 legs, it's all CGI.

What the Mail columnist was trying to get at was that an offensive joke is not an offensive joke until the Mail decrees it thus. You can't have BBC people making that kind of decision, can you?

There's not an up to date thread about Jimmy but just wanted to say I saw him at the Hammersmith Apollo last night. First hour was brilliant... really slick and very funny. He got heckled a LOT though and although he batted them off very well.. it ruined it somewhat for me. Heckles really should end in the smaller circuits.

The rest was rather dull... it involved audience participation and I think it was Jimmy's bad luck that he got boring sods up on stage. Didn't seem much picking.

Anyway, not as rude or crude as I was hoping... but glad I went.

No connection to Jimmy but I thought I should lose my posting virginity to the sweet Ellie JP and wondered what you thought to
the pilot of Accidental Farmer starring that lovely and talented
Ashley girl
Made me smile when they said you couldn't buy a farm for £150,000,
I've just managed that with a grand to spare and ended up in deepest
darkest Cambridgeshire, not had my lights punched out by a mad old
woman yet, but getting a trifle fed up with the natives duelling bangoes - Ooh that wasn't that bad, time for a cigarette now I think

What?

Jimmy Carr is the greatest stand-up comedian in the world (possibly).

Amputee soldiers and their families have no-one to turn their anger on.

The real target should be agents of the war like Tony Blair, not harmless wankers like Jimmy Carr.

To do that of course would be to recognise the futility of their suffering and sacrifice, which is obviously a big ask, and would occasion even greater despair.

I've not seen Jimmy live, but his DVDs have put me off going to see him. The standup bits, like you said, are very funny. However, when he does bits like the audience participation or reading out faux-letters, I get very bored.

Keeps 'em on their toes, me thinks...

I despise hecklers. They ruin it for every member of the audience.

One heckle maybe - fine. But give it up after that. It's dull and f**king irritating.

I agree, one is funny. But when it's a number who only go to heckle, it is really annoying.

Persistent hecklers should definitely be escorted out.
If someone started shouting in the cinema or at a play they'd soon be chucked out. Most people in the audience at comedy shows have paid to get in, and paid to hear the comics, not some drunken humourless c**t.

(Unless they're at a Jim Davidson gig.)

It's pretty common now that clubs have heckling policies where they say you can berrate the MC as much as you like but people who persistently heckle acts will be removed.
