Was that a joke? Predator 2 was f**king terrible.

It wasn't that bad it was shit, but atleast it tried to do something new.

I'd say Predators was significantly better than Predator 2.

At least Predators had a script. P2 was a joke.

Plus, P2 made the idiot scifi error of setting something five minutes into the future (iirc, it was set in 97, shot in 91) and trying to make it look futuristic. See Strange Days for another example of this problem.

It's possible I may have been spoiled by the first Predator comics, which the movie borrowed heavily from. It was basically the same premise -- Predators And The City -- but it had some awesome set pieces that the movie inexpicably eschewed.

(Notably, Arnie's bigger brother finds a Predator helmet and looks out of the window with it on to see a fleet of Pred ships hovering over New York. How awesome would that have been? I doubt the CGI back then could have handled it mind.)

Mmmm well maybe it's not quite as bad as 2 though but it's not by much.

Not seen the comics.

Strange Days is a great film, Murphy. And there's nowt wrong with setting a film 5 minutes into the future.

Strange Days is a shit film.

In 1999 we're going to have mind-recording devices? And we're going to have had them for a long time? Idiotic. Cameron should be ashamed of himself.

Bladerunner had the same problem (I think it was filmed in about 1980 and set roughly now) but it got away with it by being a) set a few decades in the future and b) being good and not shit.

They're not checklists of things that are going happen. Isn't Robocop set in the nineties, yet that decade came and went with no robot policemen. The lying f**ks.

Nope.

That Sunday Night Show

Thought I would give it a go!

Nope.

Meh, it feels very near future. And Blade Runner's a tedious snooze-fest. Strange Days is far superior.

10 minutes in.

Shaun Ryder - quite entertaining
Al Murray - not much airtime but funny
Pamela Stephenson - funny as a kick in the c**t

Guests dragged on for no apparent reason.

Lord Charles Brocket (fraudster) not funny
Darren Gough - cricketer - not funny

It's only a half hour show (excluding adverts) seems like they are trying to cram too much stuff in.

Some funny clips though.

I thought it was flat. I turned it off.

Michael Pallin been dragged out to talk about the King's Speech film and stammering. He got about 2 and a half minutes. What a waste of his f**king time.

Love Blade Runner.

Love Blade Runner.

It's sterile film making. Looks great, though.

But which Blade Runner? With or without unicorn and voiceover?

Directors cut, without voiceover, with the whole unicorn business.
