I was on Match of the Day in 2000; Spurs v. Bradford. Stefan Iversen scored after about 6 minutes and above the celebrating Spurs players there is my clearly-pissed-off face just above Iversen's stupid head that scored the goal.

In the late 1980s I was a contestant on the quiz show 15 to 1.
I had a great time and I still have the recording. Only trouble is - the recording is on a betamax cassette.
I first went to the regional interviews where we actually played the game and William G Stewart was there to choose the contestants for the show.
I remember we were paid very good expenses and stayed in (what I thought at the time was) a very posh hotel where all drinks and food were free.
I was contestant number 1 and so got the first question to start the show off. William G Stewart was very nice and spoke to me for quite a while before it began.
I was knocked out in the second round after fielding about 25 questions. A woman got in the final 3 and she only was asked three questions
There are companies out there that will put your recording onto DVD for you, some charge £30

How does that work?
Did you know they were filming there Tony or had you just popped in for a Haircut?

Nice one
I don't remember the questions being very easy on that show.
From what I recall the prize for the winner of the grand final was always something like a carved bust of a roman God dating to about 100BC.
Not like Bullseye.

£30 sounds a bit steep. If you - Stephen - still have your beta player and several Beta/VHS tapes you want to convert, it may be worth buying a 'capture' gadget (the USB end of which plugs into a laptop/PC/MAC and the other end has audio/video cords that plug into the old player) that converts VHS/Beta into digital files that can then be burnt onto a blank DVD. I recently bought such a gadget for approx 25 quid equivalent (expensive because I needed a MAC compatible one), though the non-MAC compatible ones were cheaper. There may also be downloadable freeware that does the conversion.

What do you play?
At the time a flugal horn. Now a cornet/trumpet
Small mouth. I had a big mouth. Hence I played the euphonium

Did you play at the Albert Hall though?

Yes, with a band called BTM and we came 7th.
Same band at the British Open in Birmingham. Came 12th.
We won. Twice.
Always prefered the festival hall though.

I saw an ad asking for people to go on and as I'd just gone full-time as a stand up I had my days free, so thought why not.
They made me look like a right idiot and left me on my own in the "treatment" room for best part of an hour, but it was quite a funny experience and I did get to be touched by this rather attractive lady.
