Have you ever been on TV?

I don't mean as an actor - but as an extra or accidentally or maybe a contestant or some other way.

In the late 1980s I was a contestant on the quiz show 15 to 1.

I had a great time and I still have the recording. Only trouble is - the recording is on a betamax cassette.

I first went to the regional interviews where we actually played the game and William G Stewart was there to choose the contestants for the show.

I remember we were paid very good expenses and stayed in (what I thought at the time was) a very posh hotel where all drinks and food were free.

I was contestant number 1 and so got the first question to start the show off. William G Stewart was very nice and spoke to me for quite a while before it began.
I was knocked out in the second round after fielding about 25 questions. A woman got in the final 3 and she only was asked three questions :(

15 to 1 was a great show. And William G. Stewart a great host who looked like he didn't suffer fools gladly.

I was the betting 'expert' on Setanta Sports News once. I was so bad they had to close down the channel.

Crimewatch?

I'm in the crowd at Silverstone in Silver Dream Racer Wave

A similar thread already exists. My answer here...

Have I ever been on TV?

Well I'm not sure really...

You see, if 'Mexican Donkey Porn' or 'Juan does Chihuahua' (the city..... AND the dog - how low can you get by the way?) have been aired on TV - then yes.

If not - then no.

The channel closing down was about the safest bet you could make.

15 to 1 ruled!

I was an extra on an Australian programme called 'Headstart' when I lived in Sydney years ago. It was an awful, awful "drama series" where the left-over actors from 'Heartbreak High' pretended they were still school leavers (and not in their 30's) and were given business grants to set up strange profitless projects.

They skateboarded, made a dance video and invented some kind of new bike wheels. It was gripping stuff.

I watched it every week naturally, so that I could point and yell everytime I saw the back of my head chatting unrealistically to the same people I'd mimed giving the time to in an earlier scene (but wearing a different jumper).

My sister was also on Emu's Pink Windmill. (Not a euphemsism).

I loved Heartbreak High.

And Pink Windmill!!!!

"There's somebody at the door..."

Heeeeee!

(Always slightly sinister.)

I liked Heartbreak High (shhh don't tell anyone). I wanted to meet Drazic but I only met the floppy-haired one who played Ryan. :|

I watched Pink Windmill but I've only ever liked Rod Hull when he ran around shouting "Green Jelly!"

Aww. Drazic was indeed the best one.

I watched Pink Windmill but I've only ever liked Rod Hull when he ran around shouting "Green Jelly!"

Oh yes, his finest moment!!

My TV credits include;

The One Show - On a feature about comics at the Edinburgh Festival I was featured on screen telling a joke (grand total of screen time about 7 seconds)

Genius - Was in the inner genius circle for a show in the 2nd series.

Celebrity Scissorhands - Was given a Jake Shears style makeover by one of the women from "The Real Hustle" and a women from EastEnders (not exactly the "Ratpack" look that I'd asked for!)

Anglia News - Was a pundit for the "Old Farm Derby" preview a few years ago.

You and Me - They filmed at my primary school when I was about 5.

I was an extra in a couple of movies in the mid '90s, both of which have been shown on TV. When one came out on video it was pan and scan and all you could see was my arm. On TV though, it was the widescreen version, so I taped it like a saddo.

In the other there were mostly bits of me but for a fleeting second my face filled the entire screen. Bad enough on TV but really weird when I saw it at the cinema.
