The new racism? Page 2

He is a shit detective.

He found the cat pooing in my garden and the dog who crapped on the footpath outside my house.

He's a regular poo-roe

Maybe he's lucky enough not to know any racists!

He used to be fat. Fat people are statisically more likely to be racist than thin people.

Oi lay off fat people,

Oi lay off fat people,

I always imagine you as painfully thin, Soot. Like Pipe Cleaner Man.

What is the P word. Errr

"Paki".

Here's a usage example: http://www.commondreams.org/views02/0112-03.htm

Sounds like you're prejudiced against racists.

Oh yeah.

Sometimes I am a twat!

I've never heard that word used in the United States and I doubt many Americans have. I've seen several BCG posters who I assume aren't racists use the term "red Indian" to describe Native Americans. That term would be considered highly offensive in this country but I wouldn't necessarily expect someone in the UK to realize that it's a racist insult. One man's slur is another man's slang.

I never understood why socialist India didn't support Native Americans, surely both were Red Indians?

I am a bit. And murderers. And smelly people.

Yep.
I heard (read) one American use 'Paki', just as a shortening, like 'Brit'. He didn't know it was usually used as racist over here.

A lot of racism is more ignorance. Although there are a lot of casual racists out there.

Absolutely you're right. In the Bush case I linked to I believe the Pakistani ambassador eventually gave him a pass for his faux pas.

You mention "red Indian", but the word "Jap" has the same easy use in the UK.

It's not generally considered even remotely in the same offensiveness ball-park as "Paki" (which is just as bad as "nigger" in the UK) but is hugely offensive if you're a Japanese-American.

You guys interred "Japs", we "Paki-bashed". The actions of our racists gave our slurs added value, as they did yours.

As recently as last week Jimmy Carr (I think) was using the term "Jap's eye" to describe his piss-hole on prime-time television.

I think the joke was "What do Japanese people call their Jap's eye? Their 'my-eye'?"

(might not have been Jimmy Carr)

One of my neighbors liked to greet his friends by saying "What's up, niggers?" until he said it in front of a guy with two adopted African-American children. He was very embarrassed and has switched to a substitute word: Canadians.

a substitute word: Canadians.

But that's even worse!

I know! It really hurts when he calls me that.
