Radio sketches

Normaly, I try aiming for television, but I had a couple of ideas that might be suited for radio, so here goes.

We hear the sounds of a train station, and then a distorted voice over the tannoy saying "British Rails would quite like to appoligise for the late arival of the 10:15 to Nourthbridge, and for any inconvenience this has caused, this was..." the announcer pauses "One moment please." then we hear the announcer blow his nose, and then his voice changes to a nomal tone "Sorry about that" and then continues with the statement "Now, this was due to signal faliure."

We hear a documentary presenter saying "And the natives live here in this rather primative housing, and upon reaching the age of 13, youths are given their own knives, for which they use to gather objects of great value." then we hear a radio announcer say "And that was a sneak preview of our new documentary series about the current conditions of Manchester which will be on later this evening."

So what do you all think?

Not bad quickies. Why not develop them a bit more and in the correct format.

Could you explain what you mean by the correct format please?

Script format.

Keep the descriptions short and to the point.

Alright, thanks for that. But truth be told, I'm not good at script formats.

Thanks for the link, I'll give the format a try at some point.

TANOY ANNOUNCEMENT QUICKIE

F/X: A TRAIN PULLING INTO THE STATION, TANOY SWITCHES ON.

ANNOUNCER: (D) We would like to appoligise for the late arrival of the 10:15 to Bristol, this was due to (PAUSE) One momment please.

F/X: ANNOUNCER BLOWS HIS NOSE

ANNOUNCER: Sorry about that. This is due to signal faliure, and we'd quite like to appoligise for any inconvinence this has caused.

END

Hi His,

I think you'd need to put some directions for the actors on this because I didn't get it at first. Something like '(SPEAKS IN TANNOY VOICE), '(SPEAKS NORMALLY)' should be sufficient, anyhow it's a good idea.

DOCUMENTARY SNEAK PREVIEW

DOCUMENTARY PRESENTER: I am standing in front of one of the rather primative dwellings commonly used by the natives. Now it is a custom that when a youth reaches the age of 13, he or she recieve a hunting knife for which they will use to hunt of things that may be of great value.

CONTINUITY ANNOUNCER: And that was a sneak preview of the new documetary series on the current state of London, which will be on later this evening.

END

Thanks Angie, I was following the exact instructions I got off the link Leevil gave me, but if I knew I could have done what you said, I would've, so again thanks.
