British Comedy Guide

What YouTube video are you watching? Page 91

I was looking for the words to The Banks of my own lovely Lee ( about my home town Cork) and stumbled upon a comedy duo from the 70s/8os called Cha and Miah, they played two old local fellas who would sit and have these very funny chats putting the world to rights, was stunned to find them on YouTube, must find out what happened to them.

Saving her life.

Oh come on, DaButt.

Yes, all houses with young children should contain a loaded gun, that's common sense!

No he's got a point what ever the morality of the situation if she hadn't had the gun she'd be most likely dead.

You're not doing your pro-gun stance any favours with that kind of silliness.

I would hate to think what it would be like if guns were freely available here. All those chavs packing heat. F**k me, grim.

Great, all of you have turned retardo.

If you're joking, fine. But if you're truly serious that this one case of it turning out well means that it was a good idea of the parents' to leave it there, then, well, I give up.

Plus (although I may have misheard) didn't the burglars run off before she even got to the gun? Making it a total non-story.

As I said, I probably got the wrong end of the stick.

Ok 3 guys break into her house she scares them of with a shooter.

This may be the one beneficial situation of gun ownership this year. But that's the case.

What you do with the information is your choice.

There are millions of Americans who own guns, many of them have kids in their house.

How many of these guns are used to harm innocents? I don't know.

How many crimes are carried out with illegal fire arms? I don't the answer to that either.

But there are a great many countries where gun ownership is more liberal than the UK or the US and violent crime is far lower than either.

Violent crime isn't related to the presence or absence of firearms. It's to do with wealth, justice and freedom.

Watch the news report about the kid with the gun again. At no point does it say that the burglars ever clapped eyes on her. It just says she wandered around the house carrying a loaded gun.

It's pure fluff. Could have been press-released by the NRA.

It's a sad fact that "11-year-old fends off burglars" makes a better story than "kid narrowly avoids a raping", so that's the angle they took. The reporter should be ashamed of herself.
