Good comedians in bad comedies Page 3

A wonderful film. A real 'must see' for anyone who believes the Nazi concentration camps can't be hilariously funny when given the correct, utterly respectful comedic treatment.

Perhaps Jerry Lewis may one day treat us all to his unshown lost holocaust comedy- the Day the Clown Cried.

Probably better than most of his films though.

Tripper's Day was a sorry send off for Leonard Rossiter.

Rik Mayall in Minder 2009.

In fairness the titel referred to *good* comedians.

Well, he's not awful, but he's not exactly the Dame Judi of comedy, is he?

Dame Judi

The denchmark by which all others are measured.

He was one the best in the last thirty years.

The entire gamut of 80s 'alternative' stars who revolutionised comedy like no-one since the Pythons... In that God-awful 'Carry On' rehash! Oh please...

Carry On Columbus which I haven't had the chance to see. Also stars the always wonderful June Whitfield.

Arguably not been the greatest 30 years, mind.

It got awful reviews and rightly so. Most distressing of all was the participation of Alexei Sayle, who spent years mouthing off the others for stealing his thunder then worked with 'em again - ON THIS!

Wouldn't necessarily call her a comedian, but Caroline Quentin ending-up in Life Of Riley is a minor tragedy. An actress who had a true gift for comedy, demonstrated not only by her role in Men Behaving Badly, but by her live comedy improv work, now paying the mortgage by appearing in the most pointless, banal and formulaic sitcom in the land. The fact that she must know, deep in her bones, how bad the show is, makes it all the more depressing.

Frank Skinner in Shane.
Although he did write that so that doesn't really count

Funny to see that they filmed an entire second series which has never seen the light of day.

They're keeping the tapes in reserve. It's only to be broadcast on the emergency frequency channel after 'The Event'...

Caroline Quentin looks far too pleased with herself for my liking.
