PROF. #1: Behold!

BOTH PROFESSORS TURN TO THE CLASS AND HOLD OUT THERE ARMS

PROF #1 cont: A black student in Oxbridge.

END

I just checked the news and it turns out this works, Jay. You should try sending it to Newsrevue.

There are black students at Oxbridge - not many but certain some.

And Asian students are plentiful.

I don't believe it's racism that keeps blacks out. The dearth of blacks at Oxbridge merely reflects the dearth of blacks in Britain's upper socio-economic groups.

It's a class issue, not a race issue.

I'd imagine there are quite a few Nigerian princes who can afford to send their children to Oxbridge.

Im only pointing out the numbers are very low. We all know there are many reasons.

The facts and figures all look black to me.

Why is the prof calling the other Prof a doctor? Love his surname though. :) And not sure of the logic of a microscope?

Yes. Perhaps better if they're looking at some sort of printout or a computer monitor.

Well would it be a group class graduation pic or something with a black man/woman in the middle of otherwise caucasian people. Although of course that would exclude every other ethnic representation which isn't I guess the point you are making?

Is this based on actual statistics or research? Because my experience of university is that it's one of the most cosmopolitan environments you're ever likely to experience.

It's a fact that black students are rare at Oxbridge.

Far fewer blacks apply for places than do whites and Asians and fewer (percentage-wise) who do apply are accepted.

You don't see many blacks in the annual Boat Race, that's for sure.

Dead weight is kept to a minimum in competitive rowing, therefore a significant factor governing each crew's speed is the size of the cox.

:D

That's funnier than the actual sketch.

Ah, well spotted with the Dr bit! I wanted to make it look like the Professors were looking through a microscope but it it will actually be shown to be the eyepeice of a video camera... just not sure how to write that part yet.

I just threw the idea up to see if it worked or not.
