People who try to joke with you are annoying Page 2

Sometimes, when I go for a pint or when I'm shopping, I find that the workers try to joke around and make comments at me/other customers. I always sneer whenever they try to do their 'banter'.

Characters sneer a lot in novels and short stories but you don't see much in real life.

I think they are just trying to be friendly and brighten up their day. Are you really to high and mighty to humour them? Bloody retail customers all the same...spoon fed f**kwits.

Unless I'm much mistaken, Mr Intelligent was a basically okay guy on a 'wind up' mission - and a successful one at that.

Good time had and no harm done if arguing sensibly with somebody who probably didn't mean a word he said is one's idea of a good time.

Indeed.

Since wind-ups have very little to do with humour and a lot to do with a shaming need to prove one's own superiority, then the original poster is a sad and humourless man however you cut it.

Anonymously, obviously.
