Fantastic Ricky Gervais interview

There was a fantastic appearance by Gervais on The One Show a week or so ago. Sorry, completely forgot about it till now. But someone might be able to pull it up somewhere.

Gervais was his usual casually abrasive and uncomfortable self and managed to mention quite early that he had no interest in British TV or comedy. They also showed an amazingly sour and mocking clip from his video attacking his fans.

He also fielded a fantastic question from Chris Evans who suggested enthusiastically that he 'have a kid'. Cue twitching, uncomfortable gurning and a too-late weak joke. Ricky remains the only current performer I'd be interested in reading a biography about. He's a modern day Hancock.

I think this is the clip to which you refer

Except Hancock was unhappy and killed himself. Gervais is as happy as a pig in shit and will never kill himself.

And Hancock was funny - crucial difference ;)

I realise he is not to everyones taste but I love most of his humour (or his and Merchants)
The 'Extra's series was sublime. I have watched it lots of times and there are some brilliant comedic moments in there. So good that I laugh long and loud on each viewing.

Only Laurel & Hardy could ever do that to me before.

I love the Office too and the first series of Extras. (2nd Series should never have been made)

I also have nothing against Gervais, it's just he makes himself so hard to like.
