Garth Marenghi's Darkplace

The DVD has been delayed to 29 January, 2007. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!-WHYYYYYYYYYY? Angry

grrrrr! I'm a huge fan of the show too Jörn - it's not like we haven't waited long enough already for the DVD!

I'm looking forward to the Garth Marenghi team's next venture... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_to_Man_with_Dean_Learner

Got these news from amazon.co.uk, but sadly without some reason. Have you heard anything about it?

It's been delayed numerous times now. Many are beginning to doubt if it will ever see the light of day.

Recordings of the original broadcasts are available around the Web of course. If you know where to look.

Yeah, I do ;)
But there are times in a life of a man, when you want to watch your darlings in the best quality possible...the broadcast recordings have the quality of an old vhs-tape, or was that the intension of the filmmakers, too? Cool

Heh, well, you never know!

Yeah, I suspect it was their intention. It certainly wouldn't have been because they didn't have the equipment available. I can't remember the source but I remember it being reported at the time that Darkplace cost Avalon a small fortune to film (much more than a normal half hour sitcom), mainly due to the creators' insistance that everything was perfect.

There's a whole episode online on Avalon's site for anyone interested: http://www.avalonuk.com/tv/main_tv_darkplace.htm

Thanks for the link. But unfortunately I hear no sound... :S

Darkplace was really good. I was quite surprised when I found out how unpopular it was. It's another show full of quotes.

For those into it there's this website "Save Darkplace"

http://www.darkplace.org.uk/

It says there the release date is 2nd October, but not sure how often it's updated.

I hope after all the delays it has tons of extras on it to make us feel better.

I love the episodes with Julian Barratt as Padre!

Did anyone see the Christmas rock musical they did? It had all the types from Marenghi in it (And the Boosh, and Snuff Box - also great shows).

AC/DC, you mean?

Yes! That's it. My mind went blank.

I really thought that that was little short of painful, I'm afraid! >_<

Aw. It was bizarre, but it grew on me. (I watched it three times).

That's what you need to do, force yourself through the pain two more times, and you'll love it.
Yes.

lol, I'm not quite sure who you're trying to convince there. :P
