Not particularly ethnically/religiously offensive, but in poor taste and not funny.

Another hopeful young writer eager to share his wares crushed by Tim!

Yes, but you have to appreciate it's very tough on me too. I often feel like a Roman Emperor at the Colosseum, looking into the eyes and soul of hopeful young gladiators who pray they'll win my approval and I'll spare their life. Which way will I point my thumb...? The power and responsibility is more a burden really, and one I wouldn't wish upon any other member.

Have a look and let me know when you see the article in context http://www.themondaysupplement.co.uk/news/cargo-plane-crashes-into-housing-complex-in-pakistan-has-anyone-got-a-charger-for-an-i-phone/
Wonderfully funny.
I agree with Tim when he says it's in poor taste but, unlike Tim, I find it very funny indeed.
Splendid work, TMS!
Why not put the link in our Critique section?
Mohamed is quite a common name in certain countries whereas you don't meet many Jesus's these days - except in Spain, Mexico etc.
There are plenty of people named Jesus here (most are from Mexico) but most of the ones I know go by the nickname of Chuy. (Pronounced Chewy)

So Star Wars is an allegory.

What's Al Gore got to do with it?
How do you get Chewy from Jesus? (Even if it is pronounced Heyzoos)

But how fast can they make the Kessell run?

People named Eduardo are often called Lalo. No idea how they arrive at those nicknames.
Weird.
There's a couple of English ones that baffle me actually.
Richard -> Dick
Henry -> Harry
I mean they are slightly similar, but I don't see how they follow at all.

Dick as a derivative of Richard comes from the 18th century saying 'rich as a dick'
Harry as a derivative of Henry comes from a Victorian parlour game called Harry Henry. Participants would chase each other with large sticks and if caught ram it up each others bottoms shouting 'up ya Harry Henry!' Trufax.
