Why don't they release more of Don't Wait Up?

Loved seeing the first two series of Don't Wait Up.

I'm in New Zealand and we don't quite get the range of old UK sitcoms as quickly either - as you do over there. I had a look on a UK DVD shop site the other night as was surprised to see how many old UK sitcoms have been release on DVD since I last looked.

Yet I still can't get hold of the later series of Don't Wait Up. Which based on the first 2 series I think is a very good show.

Anyone know why they haven't put it out when there are so many probably less popular shows that have been put out on DVD?

There are other good sitcoms that I'm also suprised haven't been put on DVD - like Sink Or Swim which I was a great fan of when I was younger. Both the main actors in this one are still seen on our screens today. I hope they release it.

Low sales. And a lack of caring.

Acorn will be rereleasing Series 1 & 2 this summer; nothing further is planned at present, but no doubt if sales and interest is sufficient, Series 3 - 6 will follow.

There are three bootlegs in the UK that have all 6 series on them. I've got one but i hope I've still got series 4 on my PC as I snapped the disc the other day. I'm sure I've got it though.
I'll send them to you if you like. Just put it on a memory stick and stick that into your TV or box receiver.
We're the same TV system as you. I bet you Series 1 & 2 have commentaries on some episodes. The UK edition didn't. Has it got subtitles?

Best of luck with someone picking that up after 13 years

Do you still work with Acorn Media? I know Acorn don't have it anymore but when you did it should've been released complete because each series carried on. Especially series 2 into series 3. It was a great show that people still want released on DVD complete in 2025. You and Acorn Media should be ashamed. Your release was a waste of money with just Series 1 & 2 for the reason I've just stated. I don't think you know a thing about television. Thanks to you at least three bootlegs of Don't Wait Up exist. You made the problem tens times bigger!

I understand the frustration but there's no need to get into personal attacks! All sorts of financial and legal restrictions can play a part in such matters, it's not simply someone's lazy or uncaring decision.

Please don't post a link to any bootleg either. We can't promote copyright infringing material here.
