British Comedy Guide

Help!!!

Hi,

Like most of us on here I'm trying to make my way in the comedy world and out of the desperate call centre world. I've written a few things and enjoyed some small, local success but naturally I want to get known on a bigger stage.

I've set up a blog all about my life which so far is proving quite popular, please take a look and let me know what you think.

Not looking for any deep thinking analysis, it's just meant to make you laugh so let me know if you like it and what you like about it and vice versa.

Please note the total lack of comedy in this thread, I save that for the site.

Thanks in advance,

Colin.

p.s I may appear to be a bit miserable, selling iPhones for 8hrs a day can do that to you.

If you don't want in depth analysis, then Critique might not be the best place for you Colin. Who knows what the Beast Of Critique will do one minute to the next...

You shouldn't post the same link in more than one thread though. If you're having trouble figuring out where something should go there are stickied posts, or PM a mod.

I like your blog it;s got characters and a clear voice as well as being funny without needing gags.

Fellow BCGers read this blog!

Nice poems but challenge yourself and move beyond that meter. I can see some of those with a tweek turning up in cards.

I'm new to all this internet/forum stuff so don't know the rules...I don't think comedy should be over analysed, after all it's just a larf..each to their own I suppose. Thanks for your comments.

Haha you're probably not going to have much fun here then, it's pretty much all most of us do! :| Laughing out loud

This is why I'm not nice to people

Thanks Sootyj, that's very kind of you. I'm pleased you liked it, the poems just come to me when I'm out and about, usually stuck behind someone in a queue that I wish I wasn't. I put them on the site asap without too much thought.

Thanks again.

Colin.

Good poems make 'em about Tracy from accounts being 30 and you could make some cheddar.

I do like the blog

I do actually write poems/cards for people in work but for free. I've been promised countless cups of tea but if I cashed them all in I'd go over my 10 minute 'toilet' allowance and God knows how much trouble I'd be in then..

Cheers again.
