If they continue to follow the tone of the comics (and it appears they will), the drama will increasingly focus on the interplay between the survivors, with the threat of the undead kept to the fringes. Budget will inform that decision too. That's really what The Walking Dead is about anyway - the humans being the subject of the title.

This. The comics aren't about non-stop zombie chomping, and are all the better and more interesting because of that.

F**k. Well back to the drawing board.

I wish it was a long series or Walking Dead like 24 it always takes me ages to get into stuff like this I doubt I'll even to into it before it's off air again.

Yes of course, but not to the extent a long series, such as this TV show, and the comic, can. Plus most films are still more interested in Zombie chomping than the WD comic is.

Agreed. I love horror/action as much as the next guy but without the element of human drama you've got yourself a Resident Evil movie.

Yes, of course you can do more in a series, but it's not the first TV show to deal with how people cope with an appocalyse. Jericho, Threads, Dark Angel, Survivors and The Last Train have all done it to varying degrees of success. Now I'm as excited as the next chap about this show, but let's not pretend it's invented the wheel.
