Then I noticed that a letter in an envelope had blocked the cooing air intake for the disk drives.
Is now really hoping that they will recover when it cools down.

But the USB controller thingga-mejigs had got their knickers in a twist & needed a complete power down (mains plug out for 30 seconds) to reset them.
