Just saw her new show Chatterbox last night, and it was excellent she has a real warmth about her performance and is very engaging.
But then this is the 4th time I've seen her so might be a little biased.

Sarah Millican isn't a 'conventionally attractive' woman and so, even before she opens her mouth, we can expect her to talk intelligently and humourously about several different aspects of the human condition.
When a conventionally attractive woman walks up to the comedy mic, we can usually expect her to talk about sex, sex, sex and more sex.
I don't know why these women don't just pull their pants down, lie back on a table and fire ping-pong balls at the audience. It amounts to more-or-less the same act and they wouldn't have to learn a script.

I've actually seen very few female comedians like this on the circuit (I may have been sheltered) but I don't think people like the pretty conventionally attractive Lucy Porter relies on this, as I say maybe I've been lucky.
The trouble is with THAT accent you've got no idea what she's talking aboot anywah!

I do really like Lucy Porter. I have noticed though that she goes straight in on the 'aren't I tiny, isn't that cute, aren't I adorable' thing every time. (But she is, so fair enough.)
But no, I haven't noticed that attractive women stand ups go on about sex, to be honest.
I can't believe that Sarah Millican didn't already have her own thread! We talk about her all the time.
It's difficult, if not impossible, to define 'conventional', 'attractive' and 'beautiful' but there are women whose appearance on stage tends to make men in the audience go 'Phwoar!' and there are women who are not so blessed. There are also some borderline cases.
Sarah Millican elicits very few 'Phwoars', as she's the first to agree. A staple ingredient in some of her sets is her lack of conventional beauty.
Sarah Millican entertains us with a wide variety of topics but, if a woman comedian walks up to the mic and every straight male in the audience is thinking "I definitely would!", there's a very good chance she's going to talk about sex and little else.

Ooh, checking out SM's Wiki profile she's "in a relationship" with pun-meister Gary Delaney (also known to physicists as 'dark Cowards'). I once did a gig with him. He was very funny. I was very drunk.

Go girl!
