Current radio comedy Page 45

Because of the current BBC strikes many of the Radio 4 news programmes are not on, and as a result they have been replaced by comedy shows. The shows being shown instead include I've Never Seen Star Wars (08.30), The Museum of Curiosity (17.30) and Count Arthur Strong's Radio Show! (18.00).

For more info, see the schedule.

Roll on the next strike! That's a pretty good line-up.

Yes. I should point out that this is according to the Radio Times. Turns out the 8.00 repeat of JAM is not on. Out of the other repeats, it seems that TMOC is the other one that might change.

EDIT: Just learned that Five Live has also been effected. At 9.00 they are repeating Fighting Talk (the Gateshead episode).

That Hazelbeach looks very similar to Hotel Trubble. https://www.comedy.co.uk/guide/current/

I'm actually quite impressed somebody reads something other than the forum!

Wow, yes, someone actually uses that page (it's a bit tucked away, but I think it is helpful!). I'll get that bug fixed. Thanks Chappers.

Let's hope the strike never ends! It's much better to start your day with some laughs rather than some politicians dodging the question. Anyway, at least 99% of news has no direct relivance to our individual lives so it's pointless knowing it!

This possibly/presumably may have been linked elsewhere, but on the BBC Comedy website are a series (14) of animated M&W sketches, mostly adapted from radio...

And it got Nicky Campbell off the air !

Just listening to Bleak Expectations. Great to have it back. Lots of laugh out loud moments, and no apparent loss in quality despite being quite a few series in now. Definitely one of the comedy highlights of the year.

Just spotted this image on the BBC website.

Bleak Expectations.

"I shall take the cat to the vet. Dr Schrödinger will know what to do." Laughing out loud

I wouldn't go to him. He only has a 50% success rate...

Bleak Expectations.

Funniest thing I've heard all year. It's brilliant in every way!

(Not sure I approve that the latest incarnation of Geoffrey Whitehead's character was good rather than evil though)

The Odd Half hour passes the time pleasantly enough but there's something about it that doesn't quite click. The ideas aren't bad, sometimes quite quirky and original, but too often the sketches tend to fizzle and dribble away.

Just heard Lucy Montgomery's Variety Pack - many LOL moments. I especially liked the tourist information woman and the business plan.

A bit like The Odd Half Hour I thought it was a bit hit and miss, although the masseuse sketch made me laugh. The tourist information sketch annoyed me because they pronounced Wightwick wrong.

A bit disappointed with Bleak Expectations too last night. Not quite hitting the heights of earlier episodes, although I did like all the wives.

I too was disappointed, although there was still much to enjoy.
It didn't seem to make sense at certain points, and I wondered if it was me or the show.
