The rule is, when the family is so big, to not get presents for each other. This is relaxed occasionally. For example: my mum and her cohort all once received some particularly nice salt from her sister.
That story always makes me laugh so much cos in my head I'm like "Salt?!"
Can you get nice salt?
Apparently! It was Malsden sea salt or something? It had a nice box...

It IS good salt, it has to be said.
Ooh I have heard about that salt. A good salt can make a big difference. Not to some of you food idiots, obviously.
See! My family aren't mental!
Well as long as you've 'heard' about it...

I do like a special pepper!

I saw about it on a foody show- they went to the place with the thing and looked at the salt.
I tend to just buy whichever rock salt they have in the organic shop in the market.

This.
It's good salt! In fact I would go so far as to describe it as the king of salts.
*waits for sootyj to come in to say that salts have demanded to be part of a republic since the great condiment revolution of 1973*
