Ecclestone had the best and most unsentimental scripts

Probably as good an actor as Tenant, but most of Tenants scripts were bilge

But I like the Darker Doctor stuff, it's not really that kind of show. It's candy floss tele really.

:P Okkkk maybe I fancy Amy.

But Eccleston was infinitely better acting the part then Tennant. An actor playing an Alien not a fan playing at being the Doctor.

or when he gives Rose a bollocking for changing history

Watch his speach to the Daleks at the end of part one of his final story and repeat that with a straight face!!

Of course, he had good moments. The serious/intense bits were more his natural style, so they worked.
But overall, it didn't sit well with him. His attempts at being kooky or carefree/cheerful were almost painful at times.

Tennant wasn't perfect either, but he was great at either intense or happy, or whatever else they threw at him. He was so much better than Eccleston it's almost unfair to compare them.

Nah Tenant was poor some how the other 2 managed to avoid boggling their eyes and makiing that awful 'ooooooh' sound.

his best episode was Blink the one he wasn't in

It's not often zoooo's right - in fact it's only happened twice since I joined in 2006 - but she's right about this.

I so hope you can name the other time...

Ecclestone was poor at kooky, but then so were all the Drs

Except Colin Baker! ;)

It was generally poor tonight.

Just watched the Haye-Harrison fight. I'd rather attend a Wagner concert than have to watch it again.

:D Excellent Gav!
