Can anyone help me with how you can get started with recording your own radio material?
Is this the mysterious world of "podcasting"? Or can you go out and hire your own recording studios? (If so, for how much?)

Local radio stations may let you record your own show if you ask them nicely.
You'll probably find you've got most of the gear you need on your computer right now.
Just get a mic and some simple audio editing software and you're set.

This is the easiest way. If you own a computer you're half way there.
Look for your local community radio. Go in n say hello. See where that goes.
