Did any of you catch the show last night (Wednesday 10th November 2010)?

About the making and writing of The Royle Family.

If you are a fan of the show, then this is unmissable. I laughed all the way through.
It was also really nice to see their peers talking about the writing and acting in such glowing terms.

Any aspiring comedy writer should watch this show.

Catherine Tate said when she heard the lines:
What were her last words Barbra?
'Trevor McDonald'.
What a fitting tribute to the man.
She said she still had a long way to go in her own writing career.

So many things to laugh at.

The outtakes were great too. The one where they were in the caravan and Dave had to look down at Jim's underpants to see the 'skiddy' and then portray horror was so funny, I had tears in my eyes.

Wonder if this means they are gearing up for a new episode?

It was on "Gold" not "Yesterday" Stephen, well it was on yesterday as it was on last night but you know what I mean.

I would love to see this, I have never seen a behind the scenes show about The Royles and it will get me in the mood for the Christmas special this year.

Does anyone have a link to see this on catch-up or download?

Aye, I made a right mullock of that - Gold it was!

I wonder if it's an extra on any of The Royle Family DVDs? Alot of these documentaries do get included with the series at a later date.

Neither G.O.L.D.'s Blackadder Exclusive nor Fawlty Towers: Re-Opened were included in the respective remastered box sets released this year, so it's on the unlikely side that this would be. Not impossible though, as of course The Royle Family isn't a BBC production so the rights issues aren't also closed.
